Found this small shed next to Rolling Hills Golf Course, which is off of Mooresville Road in Salisbury. Dozens of small bushes make it impossible to even get close to the entrance to the building. Maybe at one point it held golf-related things.
Interstate streaking (12/5/14)
I’ve posted this picture on entirely too many social media outlets, but I’m proud of it. This picture was taken above I-85 on Bringle Ferry Road near Salisbury. Think the shutter speed was 25 seconds and aperture was at F 22.
Deck the halls (12/3/14)
A package store near downtown Salisbury N.C. is covered in Christmas lights. I thought the Latin mix sign was kind of funny.
A New Era begins (12/2/14)
New Rowan County, N.C. commissioners pose for a picture before being sworn in on Dec. 1. Three of the five commissioners were sworn into their first term.
Streaks of light (11/30/14)
Definitely my favorite long exposure picture I’ve taken so far. You can see some of the light pollution from downtown Salisbury, which is only about a mile or two away from where I took this picture, right next to my apartment.Still some work to do on night time photography, but this one turned out alright.
Sweet treat (11/26/14)
A child riding in the Southern Rowan Christmas Parade tosses out a handful of candy in Landis, N.C.
Environmental hazard? (11/24/14)
Took this picture while reporting on a pending permit for Charlotte’s wastewater system to spread sewage sludge on local farm fields. Here, Joseph Lockler uses a dipstick to test sludge at McDowell Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. Story here.
Ready for my closeup (11/20/14)
U.S. Army veteran John Miller smiles as he prepares for an interview with two local TV stations after a town hall meeting at the W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center.
Lighting the night (11/19/14)
Tried taking pictures of the night sky yesterday and this is the best one of the batch of photographs. I’m OK with how it turned out, but would probably have been better served to go out away from the city where stars are brighter.
Paved with Leaves (11/17/14)
Water droplets sit on top of golden yellow leaves in Salisbury on a rainy day. The leaves stretched the entire length of the sidewalk and made the underlying concrete nearly impossible to see.
